Koenigsegg Gemera Specifications & Features

When Koenigsegg initially unveiled the Gemera in 2020, the stunning four-seat supercar with 1677 horsepower and an avant-garde turbocharged three-cylinder engine without camshafts made jaws drop worldwide. Three years later, Koenigsegg presented the 2025 Koenigsegg Gemera production specifications. Making significant revisions that include an optional new powertrain that raises the top output to a mind-blowing 2269 horsepower. In addition to announcing the completion of an important plant expansion known as the Gripen Atelier at the company’s headquarters in Ngelholm, Sweden, Koenigsegg also introduced the V-8 on Monday. The newly created ‘Dark Matter’ electric motor. Which according to Koenigsegg is the most potent automotive-grade electric motor, and is one of Gemera’s highlights.

What’s New?

With just minimal modifications to the front bumper, the majority of the production-related changes are made underneath the skin. The Gemera still has low-slung, slick bodywork that looks stunning when coupled with gold wheels and emerald-green paint. The real side view mirrors, which take the place of the futuristic cameras on the initial display car, are the only other observable visual difference. The Light Speed Transmission (LST), which was first created for the two-seater Jesko hypercar, is one of the biggest upgrades. The Gemera was initially intended to have a single-speed direct-drive gearbox. However, the Swedish carmaker chose to equip the Gemera with the Jesko’s nine-speed automatic gearbox. The transmission was renamed the “Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission” (LSTT), paying homage to the precise mechanics of expensive Swiss watches. It does away with the flywheel and has the input shaft connected directly to the engine’s crankshaft.

A single-engine option with a combined output of 1700 horsepower was originally planned for the Gemera. A 600-horsepower three-cylinder mated to three electric motors. Koenigsegg went back to the drawing board and ripped out the three e-motors in favor of a new, single electric motor called Dark Matter. Proving that this was not absurd enough. It is a six-phase device with an independent output of 800 horsepower and 922 lb-ft of torque. The Gemera’s combined output with the Tiny Friendly Giant inline-three is 1400 horsepower and 1364 lb-ft of torque. The nine-speed, seven-clutch LST found in the Jesko distributes power to all four wheels. Even more crazy events occur.

If 1400 horsepower isn’t enough, customers can choose to swap out the Jesko’s 600 horsepower three-cylinder engine for its 1500 horsepower twin-turbo V-8. Total output increases to a startling 2300 horsepower and 2028 lb-ft of torque on E85 fuel when the Dark Matter e-motor is added. Koenigsegg claims that these are new records for a production car. Some sources claim that the V-8 is a $400,000 upgrade.

Koenigsegg Gemera Mileage

With the amount of power available, an EPA rating for a special automobile like this is not immediately available. And it is likely to be underwhelming – but owners aren’t likely to be concerned about mpg ratings anyhow. The Gemera has so far stated that it can travel 31 miles on electricity alone and 621 miles while driving. But those claims were made before the new powertrain’s specifics were made public. The 2025 Gemera is completely carbon-neutral thanks to Koenigsegg’s installation of a 30.4-gallon petrol tank that can be filled with either CO2-neutral methanol or second-generation ethanol.

Koenigsegg made the Gemera lighter by condensing its engine to use just one electric motor as opposed to three. Christian von Koenigsegg claims that it will weigh less than 4,409 lbs, although it appears that this is just the case with the three-cylinder engine. While the V8 engine’s weight is more in the range of 4,500 lbs. The cabin features the best materials in a custom-tailored setting, typical Koenigsegg elegance, and attention to detail. Nonetheless, carbon fiber is the material of choice. Eight cupholders are distributed throughout the cabin, which also has tri-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone chargers in the front and back, and multimedia screens in both the front and back.

So how much does a car that belongs to a different class cost? The starting MSRP is $1.7 million, thus this is the least expensive Koenigsegg that money can buy. Even if you could afford the price of the 2025 Koenigsegg Gemera, you’d have to be one of the fortunate ones who signed up as soon as it was disclosed because only 300 units would be made. And just to check the ridiculous Hot V8 version of the Gemera box, you’ll need to add almost $400,000 to the price.
